IT'S OFFICIAL. Looks like our long term dream of travelling around Africa is finally coming to reality. We are working on the plan to give up work in July at the latest, then ship our car over to Kenya in August or September this year.:D
Our game plan at this point is to pick up our car from the port in Mombasa, Kenya, deliver all our medical equipment to the Aitong and Lodwar hospitals, spend up to 3 months in Kenya, then after saying farwell to our family and friends there, we start our adventure by heading into Ethiopia first, ~ we will have to go back through Kenya to get to Uganda, then cross the border on the western side of Lake Victoria into Tanzania. Next, we make our way through Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and eventually South Africa. At this time, we will decide if we want to up Mozambique and back to Kenya or take the ship out of South Africa, where we will decide if we shall go straight home to Australia for a rest before commencing our tour around Australia, OR if we shall go home via Europe.
Nothing is set in concrete and as always, when travelling, you have to go with the flow, but we are just happy at this point that we can see the starting line and now all our preparations go into full swing.
Once we start, we will keep you all updated as to where we are and what has been happening, so if you are interested, you can follow our trip with us.
Come on August.... we are keen to get rolling.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
