After seeing the beauty of Arches N.P. we went further south to Navaho country, Monument Valley. Many of the sights you would reconise from old John Wayne movies. Down further to Arizona and we come to the Grand Canyon. While it was big and beautiful, we really did not have a good day for it. ONward further south we found the actualy burial site of Buffalo Bill. He was buried high on this hill as he liked the idea of seeing over 4 different states. Next it was down to Tombstone, where the sights and sounds took you back to the living days of OK corral and the famous shoot-out that took place there with Wyatt Erp and Doc Haliday. They have a re-enactments during the day, but the entire town is like a living history.
Even further, now we drive onto New Mexico, where we leave the cactus for the yukka's. Not long after we cross the border through a small quiet town, we found a small bird running across the road in front of us & stopping on a hill. I took the photo thinking...maybe... and yes, it was confirmed that it was indeed the Road Runner. All we need now is the coyote and acme service company.
